9/11/2001

I was in fifth grade sitting on the floor in my Science class with Mr. Theiler. He turned the T.V on and for the entire class period we watched the news about the planes crashing into the Twin Towers. I didn't truly understand what was going on. I didn't know it was an act on terror but I knew it was bad. A part of me felt sorrow and grief for those that lost their lives and for the families and friends of them, but another part of me brushed it off like it was no big deal.

Now, 10 years later this war that we're going through means a whole lot to me. Not only do I support the war, but I support each and every soldier and vet that has put their life on the line to keep our country SAFE and FREE. We WOULD NOT be the country we are today without them. We have a lot to be grateful for.

So, as 09/11/2011 approaches, take time to thank the soliders and remember those who've sacrificed and who've paid the ultimate price: life.

Keep those families in your prayers who've lost loved ones due to the attack on the Twin Towers and these wars we're fighting right now.

God bless the U.S.A!

Day 5- A photo of an animal you'd love to keep as a pet

I would love to have an otter for a pet. Every time I go to the zoo and see those cute little otters playing with each other, I say to Adam, "Adam, can we please have one? We can just fill up the bath tub and that could be there swimming pool!" But of course his answer is no...I don't know anything about otters except for the fact that they are SO cute. Just look at the  pictures below! You can't say NO to those faces!

Those baby otters are so friggin' cute!
Silly otter looks like he's blushing.

Day 4- A Picture of your best friend

My best friend is Adam, of course! I love this picture. This picture was taken just a couple of days after Adam got home from Afghanistan. We went to Pointe Defiance, which is a BEAUTIFUL park in Washington State, close to the city of Tacoma. I'll post a couple more pictures of this park below so you can see how magnificent it really is. :-)

Day 3- Your idea of a perfect first date

I wish I could say I new what my idea of a perfect first date would be, but honestly I have no idea. I think a first date should be somewhere fun, where you can talk a lot, laugh a lot and have a great time. Going to a movie and dinner is not my idea of a perfect first date.

Hmm...somewhere not too cold but not too hot, nice breeze, good atmosphere, beautiful surroundings. Well this may sound SUPER pathetic, but maybe the perfect first date for me would be body boarding at the beaches in San Diego...or maybe I'm saying that cause that's what Adam and I did for our honeymoon and I had an absolute blast. We were able to get to know each other better. We laughed, had an amazing time, it was fun and we talked a lot(when I was getting gallons of nasty sea water in my mouth). The beaches in San Diego are absolutely beautiful(except for that one heavy set man in a speedo*gag*) and the weather was perfect.

Oh I wish I could be there right now! Soaking in the sun's rays, getting burned, feeling the sand between my toes...yeah, I'm ready to go back right now. :-)

Adam and Bailey

So, I decided to take a break from the regular posts I've been doing...which haven't been many. Two days ago I was writing a post. It was a long one. I went to publish it, and it didn't work! All the pictures posted, as you can tell in my previous post, but the writing didn't! I was so mad...so here I am again, going to try and re-write my post from 2 days ago.

I wanted to first start off by kinda telling the story about how Adam and I met. I'll give you the super watered down version so that this post doesn't turn into a 700 pg. book. :-)

Adam and I first met when he came home for about a month from his mission in Peru, for a surgery he needed, back in Oct. 2006. We wrote a couple letters to eachother throughout the rest of his mission but it wasn't much. After he came home from his mission we became pretty good friends. In March of 2008 he told me he was joining the Air Force! I was so excited for him and supported him 100%! Nine months went by without seeing eachother, but don't worry we talked on the phone for hours almost every single night. He became my best friend. We talked about everything from what color socks he was wearing, to our life long goals.

In December of 2008 he came home for a two week "leave of absence". I spent pretty much every second with him. :-) On December 23rd 2008 he asked me to be his girlfriend! WOOHOO! Well, unfortunately it was time for him to do more training with the AF. In April of 2009 he got off orders, May 1, 2009 we got engaged and we were married Aug. 6, 2009. And here we are almost two years later just having a wonderful time together!

So thats our time together, in a nut shell.

Now....for the Air Force....I don't even know where to begin. I have to say, I am pretty grateful none of you can see me writing this post. I get a "tad" bit emotional when it comes to talking about the AF/military. We have a.....love hate relationship...seriously. I love the military so much. I love the soldiers that sacrifce their, time, life, expertise and so much more for our country..but...I really hate the military too, for taking my husband away from me for long periods of time and for the nervous wreck I am most of that time. I don't like that our soldiers have to spend so much time away from their families to keep our country free. Unfortunately that is how it has to be.

Being a military wife is SO exhausting. I never know what's happening until it's happening. Plans change all the time and we have to plan our lives around the military. I have shed so many tears, been angry, sad, mad and super frustrated BUT....it has been the most rewarding experience I have ever had. I would NEVER trade this life for any other life. I LOVE being a military wife.

I'm grateful for Adam. He is a very strong man...both physically :-) and mentally/emotionally. Being in the military isn't simple. It's a very high stress, high pace envirornment and I don't see that changing any time soon.

I love Adam's squadron. They truly are my second family even though I only know a select few of them. They are a freaking awesome team! I love how they watch out for eachother.. That's what family is all about, right?

Day 2- A photo of something you ate today.

Yum! I love waffles! Of course, mine didn't look like this at 7 am this morning, but they sure were delicious. They were blueberry waffles with sugar free syrup on them(don't ask why I bought sugar free ;-)).

So, on a side note, I started couponing about 1 1/2 months ago. I've loved doing it so far. The best part is clipping out all the coupons from the newspaper! I get so excited seeing what coupons I get in the mail. It's like Christmas for me. People laugh, but I absolutely love saving money. 2 weeks ago I made money buying cascade dishwasher cleaner! Now, how about that for a good deal! It does take some time and effort, but if that means I only spend $8.00 at the grocery store and not $50.00 then I'm down with it. I love how Adam totally supports me in my efforts, although he won't go to Walmart at midnight to get the great deals. :-) hehe

Up next: Day 3- Your Idea of the perfect first date(this will be interesting)
